According to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH), a low-pressure area may form over the Bay of Bengal during the third ten days of April 2025. This could bring rainfall to 12 regions and states, including Yangon, lasting from 5 to 8 days.

Moderate to heavy cloud cover is expected in parts of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. Light rain is forecast in Yangon, Bago (East), Ayeyarwady, Tanintharyi, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, and Mon. Scattered rain is possible in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Bago (West), Magway, Sagaing, Chin, Rakhine, and Shan.

Rainfall duration will likely be 5–8 days in regions such as Yangon, upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Tanintharyi, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, and Shan. Shorter rain spells (1–4 days) are expected in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway, lower Sagaing, and Rakhine.

Temperature-wise, Yangon and Ayeyarwady may experience temperatures 1.5°C above the monthly average. Elsewhere, temperatures are expected to be close to average.

This forecast follows a similar pattern seen in the second ten days of April, when light to moderate rainfall occurred in several regions due to similar cloud formations over the Bay of Bengal.
