
MANDALAY REGION – A 10-wheeler truck carrying 7,500 gallons of 92-octane fuel overturned on the Meiktila-Kyaukpadaung Highway near Milepost 13/1 at Thayetpyin Village yesterday evening.
The truck, en route from Mann- Thanpayar oil filed to Sagaing Region, lost control while navigating a curve near Thayetpyin Village and overturned to the right side of the road. According to the Myanmar Fire Services Department, the vehicle was carrying a 39-year-old driver and a 41-year-old passenger, neither of whom sustained injuries.
Emergency response teams from Meikhtila District dispatched one administrative vehicle, one fire engine from the township fire station, one support vehicle from District 2 Fire Station, and two fire engines from the Thae Kone Expressway Fire Station—totaling five vehicles. A total of 25 personnel assisted in ensuring there was no fire hazard, using 40 gallons of firefighting foam to secure the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the driver was taken into custody by the Shan Ma Nge Police Station in Meikhtila Township, Mandalay Region, for reckless driving.
