A pilgrimage vehicle struck a landmine near Panatnge Village in Tanintharyi Township, Tanintharyi Region, on February 18, injuring nine people, including children, according to reports.

The incident occurred as U Myo, the driver from Nyaungpinkwin Village, was transporting passengers in a light truck toward Myeik Town. Upon reaching the vicinity of Panatnge Village, the vehicle triggered a landmine, resulting in injuries to one man and eight women, including several children.

All injured individuals have been transported to Myeik General Hospital for necessary medical treatment.

Following the explosion, security personnel initiated mine clearance operations along the affected route to ensure the safety of travelers. Authorities, in collaboration with local communities, are working to enhance security measures to guarantee safe passage for the public, according to the information team of the State Administration Council.
