Two women lost their lives in a hit-and-run incident at the exit of Bandula Bridge in Dawbon Township, Yangon Region, on the evening of January 19.

The vehicle involved in the accident has not yet been apprehended, and the identities of the victims remain unknown, according to the Thitsar Mandine Social Welfare and Rescue Organization.

The accident occurred around 6:30 PM when the women, aged approximately 28 and 20, were crossing the road. They were fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle, and both were declared dead at the scene.

"Around 28 years old for one and 20 for the other. So far, we don’t know who they are or where they are from. We're still investigating," said a representative of the Thitsar Mandine Rescue Organization.

Authorities have not yet apprehended the vehicle involved, and its make and model remain unclear. However, traces of debris left at the scene suggest that it might have been a truck carrying sand and gravel.

"From the parts left behind, we suspect it was a truck loaded with construction materials," the rescue official stated.

The bodies of the two women were transported from the accident site by the Thitsar Mandine Rescue Organization. Investigations are ongoing to identify the victims and locate the vehicle responsible for the tragedy.
