The price of a lottery ticket has increased to 1,500 kyats by the end of the month, according to people who tried their luck on lottery on November 30.
At the beginning of the month, the ticket price was only between 1,000 and 1,100 kyats, but by the end of the month, it is increased to 1,500 kyats per ticket, said a person.
“I used to buy the lottery at the beginning of the month. This month, I was delayed due to traveling, so I bought it on November 30. When I arrived at the shop, I was shocked to hear that the price was 1,500 kyats per ticket. The price of a lottery ticket, which is usually between 1,000 and 1,100 kyats, has now increased to 1,500 kyats per ticket. So I didn’t buy it this month. I don’t know if it’s sold at that price by the end of the month. Normally, if I buy it by the middle of the month, the maximum price is 1,200 kyats per ticket. Now, it is 1,500 kyats per ticket, which is quite a lot,” he said.
He added that he bought the lottery every month with the idea that he would be lucky and win the lottery, but he didn’t buy it on the last day of this month because of the high price.
