People and animals have been temporarily relocated due to water intrusion in some villages next to the Sittaung River in Lewe Township, sources said.

On the morning of September 12, water is entering in Kunchan Village, Yonepin Village, Bwat Gyi Yoe Village, Yay Kar Village and Pauk Myaing Village on the left side of the Sittaung River in Lewe Township.

Chairman of Lewe District Administration Council, Chairman and members of the Township Administration Council and departmental officials went to the affected areas and are helping people and animals to move to the homes of relatives in nearby villages, Ala Tianna Monastery, Ala Gaing Htauk Monastery, Ala Thayattaw Monastery, Zeya Thein Monastery, Pyan Chi Monastery and Aung Kone Monastery.

Residents are asking for help in the villages in the east of Lewe Township, where floods are occurring due to the rise of the Sittaung River.
