The Shan Herald News Agencies reported that the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) destroyed the house of General Say Htin, the Patron of the Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP), in Lashio Township, Northern Shan State, on July 30.
According to the Shan Herald News Agencies, the MNDAA entered General Say Htin's house, driving away the guards stationed there. The house is located on Myawady Road in Ward No. 1 of Lashio Township.
Despite the attack, the SSPP has not released any statements concerning the incident as of last night.
The second phase of Operation 1027 began on June 27, 2024, with the Ta’aung National Liberation Army (TNLA) and its allies attacking Mogok, Nawnghkio, Kyaukme, and Hsipaw, while the Mandalay PDF, in collaboration with the TNLA, attacked Madaya-Singu.
Since July 3, the MNDAA and its allies have been attacking Lashio city, with ongoing fighting reported until July 26.
Although the MNDAA announced a ceasefire until the end of July in honor of the meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and at the request of China, daily attacks and homemade rocket attacks have continued in Lashio Township.
On July 25, the MNDAA falsely claimed that they had captured Lashio city and the Northeast command. However, fighting is still ongoing, primarily in the vicinity of the Northeast Command.
Residents have been allowed to leave Lashio town, but no one is allowed to enter. Cars coming from Sint-in have been waiting at the gate to enter Lashio for over a week without being allowed in.
Local social organizations report that about 90% of Lashio dwellers are fleeing to safer places.
"Wa" security forces entered Lashio on the night of July 27 to protect the Lashio External Relations Office and its assets, as requested by local ethnic groups.
However, news is now spreading that the Wa security forces have left Lashio Township.
