A fire broke out in Thiri Mingalar Market, in Loikaw Township, Kayah State, yesterday morning and almost all shops were destroyed, according to the video files posted by the Kayah residents on their social media.
Some media and social media pages reported that the market was burnt down due to the military’s artillery attacks.
As drop bomb attacks launched by armed groups casued fire at the market, according to the announcement released by the Information Team of the State Administration Council (SAC).
The SAC’s announcement also reported that the armed groups dropped bombs using the drone on the Thiri Mingalar market around 1am of December 10. Due to their drop bomb attacks, the market was burnt down. The military never attacked the public residential areas and they are now protecting the lives and properties of civilians against the insurgents.
As for armed groups, they are committing to destroy the lives and socio-economic life of the people. Moreover, they intentionally torched the Thiri Mingalar market in Loikaw township, Kayah State aiming to cover up the actions of insurgent groups and to harm the anti- terrorism operation between the public and military.
So, the armed groups spread the fake news reported that the market was set on fire due to the military’s artillery attacks, according to the SAC’s report.
