A bridge between Htan Kon village and Gway Tauk Khin village on Yangon-Mandalay old road in Oattwin Township, Bago Region, was destroyed by a mine around 9:00 pm on December 8 according to sources.
“We heard a loud noise and it shook our house. We found one side of the bridge was damaged this morning,” said a local of Bant Bway Kone village.
A local shared on the social media that, “Be careful when travelling. A bridge on the old road was blasted. Vehicles can accessible only the middle of the road”.
Due to the explosion, about 10 feet wide of the bridge was destroyed and vehicles are passing through the middle where there is no damage. Oattwin Township officials and security personnel visited the bridge on December 9 and repair works has been carried out.
