Major General Zaw Min Tun, a spokesman for State Administration Council (SAC), said yesterday that military [Tatmadaw] was forced to relocate from Kongyan town, Laukkai District, Shan State and then 15 homemade rockets were fired into Laukkai town.

The SAC’s spokesman was briefing on the intense fighting in northeast of Shan State, Kayah State and Sagaing Region.  

The fighting between the Tatmadaw and the Northern Alliance forces has been going on in the 105-mile in Muse. Bodies and weapons of enemies were captured.

However, 15 home-made rockets were fired into Laukkai town. With the aim to protect the lives and security of Tatmadaw’s family members, we had to relocate from the Kongyan town,” said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

Ta’aung National Liberation Army (TNLA), Arakan Army (AA) and Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) are now carrying the destructive acts in northeast of Shan State and along Mandalay-Muse Union Road, says the SAC spokesman.

“In this situation, the local people including Shan ethnics have suffered a lot. The enemy had attacked the military after taking cover of the Shan ethnics’ houses. So, I would like to say that all of these must be united against,” said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun. 

Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun said that everybody should be aware that there were organizations which incited the public to be became the violence across the country and misunderstanding between China and Myanmar regarding the conflicts taking place in northeast of Shan State.

“The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and PDF members launched coordinated attacks on Taze Police Station in Sagaing Region. However, the Tatmadaw arrived on time with its reinforcements and attacked again the enemy and there were many bodies of enemy,” said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

He also said that the office of Kayah State Police Station in Loikaw Township was attacked and military together with the police members launched counter-attacks on the enemies.
