U Than Tun Aung (aka) Min Yaza were shot by two unknown men in 5th Street in Ashesu Ward, Mohnyin, while he and his wife were going to their plantation from their home.

“He has died now. He was shot by two men. We were going to our plantation. The body is being transport to the mortuary. I don’t know why that happened,” said the wife.

According to an acquaintance of the victim, U Than Tun Aung used to work for Myit Makha news agency and Myitkyina news agency, but later he quit.

“After the political change in Myanmar, he quarrelled with young men in the community. His car was blazed one night. That was about two years ago. Now I don’t know who is responsible for his killing. Previously, he worked as a photographer for weddings and charities. He had both haters and supporters,” he added.
