The remains of Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Patron of Bhamo Monastery, Maha Nwezin Ward, Maha Aungmyay Township, Mandalay Region, Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr Bhaddanta Kumarabhivamsa was cremated on June 6 at the funeral ground at the old Chanmyathazi Airport.

Bhamo Sayadaw passed away peacefully at 11:11 pm on 7th waxing day of Nayon 1385 ME on May 25, 2023 at the age of 94, vasa 74.

After that, the remain of the Sayadaw was placed at the Aye Kabar Sasana Beikman in Bhamo Monastery, and the final funeral ceremony of the Sayadaw was held on June 6 at the state level. Monks, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and council members, Union Ministers, Chief Minister and officials of the Mandalay Region government, Commander of the Central Military Command and laymen and laywomen attended and paid homage. In addition, religious leaders from various religions also attended.

After that, the remains of the Sayadaw were conveyed to the funeral ground at the old Chanmyathazi Airport from 3:30 pm along 39th Street to 73rd Street, from 73rd Street to 38th Street and from 38th Street to 78th Street and people waited along the way and paid their respects to the Sayadaw.

The offering of the ashes of the Sayadaw will be held on June 7 at 5 am.

The titles that Bhamo Sayadaw received were First Junior (1308 ME), First Intermediate (1309 ME), First Senior (1313 ME), Thakyathiha course (1314 ME), Thakyathiha Dhamma Sriya Vamanthaka degree (1315 ME), Sasadha Sirepawara Dharmasarya, Degree in Pali Siromani (1315 ME), and Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Mandalay University (1318 ME). The Sayadaw is the only monk in Myanmar who has received the "Siromani" title as he passed the nine books of the Athakatha in Pali in the advanced Dhammasriya examination.
