Myanmar sees increasing Covid-19 cases after Thingyan Festival; 71 cases reported on April 25

Myanmar found 71 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours from 8pm of April 24 to 8pm of April 25 after 15,213 samples had been tested, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported on the night of April 25.

Since the pandemic outbreak, the number of Covid-19 cases has reached 634,471 and the number of deaths 19,490 in the country, the MOH reported.

Daily Covid-19 cases in Myanmar have been significantly increasing since the end of the Thingyan Water Festival. 

Covid-19 samples are tested in labs under the MOH, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at No.9 100-Bed Military Hospital in Lashio, at private hospitals and labs and using Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states.
