269 Covid-19 cases, two deaths reported in Myanmar

NAYPYITAW----Myanmar reported 269 new Covid-19 confirmed cases and two deaths during a 24-hour period from 8pm September 18 to 8pm September 19, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).

The latest cases were reported after 10,243 lab samples had been tested.

Until 8pm on September 19 from the start of the pandemic, the number of Covid-19 cases in the country reached 619,167 and the number of deaths 19,448.

In the last 24-hour period, 236 patients were discharged from hospital after their recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 595,621.

Based on the lab tests conducted from January to September 7 this year in Myanmar, 80% of those infected with COVID-19 had not received any COVID vaccine, according to an announcement made by the Ministry of Health on September 12.

Meanwhile, 15.9% of the patients have received one dose vaccine, 4% two doses and 0.1% one or more boosters.
