The Central Work Committee of the National League for Democracy (NLD) issued a statement on May 1 saying that the party has nothing to do with any act to seek contact with international organizations and embassies by using the party name on the pretext of holding an election.

The decision was made by members of the Central Work Committee, the Central Committee and the Central Affairs Committee and region and state incharges, the statement said.

It also pointed out that during the time when CEC members as well as the detained NLD chairperson cannot hold a plenary meeting, the NLD has not authorized anyone or any organization to meet, discuss or coordinate with the military council or the organizations it has formed.

Moreover, the NLD has nothing to do with any act to seek connections with international organizations and embassies on the pretext of efforts to hold an election, which is a political way out of the military council, the statement added.
