Myanmar found 5,234 new COVID-19 confirmed cases on July 29 bringing total number of patients to 289,333, according to an announcement from Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS).
A total of 15,060 samples are tested between 8 pm of July 28 and 8 pm of July 29 and found 5,234 patients. 342 more people died from the virus bringing total number of death tolls to 8,552, according to a report from the MOHS.
It said 273 out of 986 samples tested in labs under the MOHS, 34 out of 41 samples tested using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw, all regions and states, 199 out of 577 samples tested at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, 244 out of 776 samples tested at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, 63 out of 199 samples tested at No.9 100-bed Military Hospital in Lashio, 70 out of 117 samples tested by the Tatmadaw mobile CRP team in Kalay, 113 out of 585 samples tested at private hospitals and labs, 894 out of 1,934 samples tested using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw, all regions and states and 3,344 out of 9,845 samples tested using COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in public health departments in regions and states, are found infected with the virus.
A total of 3,131,511 samples are tested till July 29 and 4,241 people are allowed to be discharged from the hospital bringing total number to 202,235, it said.
