YANGON----- Restaurants and tea shops in Yangon have been instructed to only allow takeaway orders, say officials from Township Administrative Team today.

“We already received instructions yesterday saying that all restaurants, tea shops, KTVs and liquor shops are not to allow any sit-ins or dine-ins, instead only allowing take away orders,” said an official from South Dagon Township Administrative Team.

The instruction letters also reported that the citizens must follow the COVID-19 guidelines being issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports. If they break the guidelines, they will receive severe punishments.

In Myanmar, the COVID-19 infection rate started to go up around the end of May while the death rate has also increased.

As of July 3rd, 26 Townships from states and regions have been put under Stay-at-Home order.
