34 COVID-19 new cases confirm in Lashio on June 23

A total of 34 people including three staffs from Lashio Prison are found infected with COVID-19 virus in Lashio on June 23, according to the township public health department.

“A total of 10 out of 64 people who lost their sense of smell are found infected with COVID-19 virus while tested using Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test yesterday. 21 out of 90 people who have contact with the positive patients are found infected with COVID-19 virus while tested using polymerase chain reaction test. However the results are not finished yet,” said an official.

Three staffs from Lashio Prison are sent to Lashio general hospital, said Watton from COVID-19 operation team.

More than 240 people are infected with COVID-19 virus till June 24 and Myoma market, wholesale market, Butar market and Lashio Gyi market are closed for two weeks.

Similarly, shops in the town are only allowed take-away system. COVID-19 patients are found in Lashio, Namlan, Kyaukme, Naungcho, Muse, Kutkai, Hsipaw, Namtu and Hseni in northern Shan State since first week of June.
