“The government has provided cash assistance of Ks.40, 000 to each family of irregular income. It is the fifth time provided to families in Yangon Region. The first time, rice, oil and salt were provided. Cash assistance was provided for 4 times. We use loud speakers and announce the program to every ward in each township. There is no dispute concerning getting the assistance. Some families were not at their home when we announced. So, they later came and told us. Then, we have to explain them again,” said Nyi Nyi Win, Thaketa No-4 south ward administrator.
Union Minister Min Thu from the Union Government Office said on January 23 that over 56 billion Kyats will be provided to add 2 million households of basic people with irregular income.
