Myanma Airways International (MAI) is planning to fly relief flights to South Korea, Dubai and Malaysia in this month, sources said.
The MAI will fly to Malaysia on December 14, 16 and 23 for Malaysian citizens to return home and for passengers who want to go home via Kuala Lumpur.
The passengers boarding from Yangon to Kuala Lumpur need to follow travel instructions from Malaysia and documents to prove they have freed of COVID-19.
The relief flight to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will operate on December 14 for its citizens and for passengers who want to go home via Dubai.
The airline fixes the minimum price of US$299 per ticket for Yangon-Seoul flight planned to operate on December 13, 15, 17, 22, 25 and 29.
Directorate of Civil Aviation extended temporary travel ban to December 31 and the MAI suspended its commercial flights till then. It suspended its flights to Bangkok, Singapore and Kolkata till December 31 and the relight flights to Guangzhou and Seoul will be operated if it has approval.
A total of 70,197 tourists entered Myanmar via Yangon International Airport and ports in Yangon during November 2019 and 176,970 tourists visited Yangon with business visa. A total of 377,368 tourists entered Myanmar via Mandalay International Airport and 4,595 tourists visited Mandalay with business visa. A total of 1,380 tourists entered Myanmar via Nay Pyi Taw International Airport and 344 tourists visited Nay Pyi Taw with business visa.
