After discovering one case of COVID infected person with no record of any travel, there has been an increase in Taunggyi of COVID-19 infected patients, so that more streets are under lockdown, more houses under Stay at Home measure, as disclosed by the Taungyi Township General Administration Department on 19th November.
After detecting one infected person from Yayayekwin village, Taunggyi, with no travel record, no less than 17 persons who have had contact with him were placed in quarantine. As two other persons were found to be infected, Zawtika lane (1), where there is the game shop to which the infected used to frequent, was under Lockdown. Efforts are being made by the authorities concerned to seek other contact persons and put them in quarantine.
The township officer of Taunggyi Township Administrative Department and responsible persons, ward administrative officers, volunteer organization members are seeking all those that have had contact with the virus infected person to be placed in quarantine.
At the moment Zawtika lane (1) of Mingalar Oo ward, Taunggyi, is under lockdown, and a house from Ngyaunphyu Sakhan ward is restricted from movement.
At least five houses in Taunggyi and Aye Tharyar are under Stay at Home measure, and in the afternoon of 19 Non. more houses are restricted of movement, said Phyoe Min Htaik, Taunggyi Township Administrative Officer.
In Taunggyi township, from 11 April to 17 Nov. there have been 39 COVID-19 infected patients, 200 Contact persons, and 28 Positive cases. There are 13 still under treatment, and 15 had been discharged from hospital, as disclosed by the department of health.
Using Rapid Test Kits, 11 virus infected persons were found in Ayethayar. Three are still under treatment, with eight discharged from hospital. At the moment16 are under treatment, and 23 discharged.
