Covid-19 Treatment Center (Phaunggyi) in Yangon has so far provided medical treatment for 149 Covid-10 patients, and 17 are still being hospitalized as 132 have been discharged, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports. 

The Central Institute of Civil Service (Phaunggyi) has been turned into the Covid-19 treatment center since the outbreak in Myanmar. 

Currently, the center can house 500 patients and preparations have been made to keep up to 2,000 patients if necessary. There are four intensive care units. ICU-1, ICU-2 and ICU-3 can house 10 patients each while ICU-4 can house seven totaling 37. There are over 400 beds donated by private hospitals. 

The Ministry of Health and Sports deployed the first batch of 31 doctors, nurses, and medical staff at the center in April. Two private hospitals also sent 60 doctors and medical staff. The military then sent 40 members of a medical team to the center.
