Strong monsoon wind brings more rain across the country

Strong monsoon wind in Bay of Bengal is brought more rain across the country as monsoon is strong to vigorous, according to weather forecast made by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) for July 3.

Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Nay Pyi Taw and lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Magway and Yangon regions, fairly widespread in upper Sagaing and Mandalay regions, Chin and Rakhine states and widespread in the remaining regions and states with isolated heavy falls in upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, and Rakhine State.

The recorded rainfalls are 4.61 inches in Longlon, 3.78 inches in Dawei, 3.70 inches in Nyaunglaybin, 3.54 inches in Phaungpyin, 3.43 inches each in Homalin and Co Co Island, 3.19 inches in Gwa, 2.99 inches in Kyaikkami, 2.76 inches in Mudon and Paung, 2.72 inches in Putao, 2.48 inches in Shwegun, 2.28 inches in Daik-U (Agriculture), 2.24 inches in Theinzayet, 2.04 inches in Hintada, 2.01 inches each in Zalun and Chaungsone and 1.97 inches each in Thandwe and Kamamaung.

Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Nay Pyi Taw and Magway Region, scattered in lower Sagaing and Mandalay regions, fairly widespread in upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Kayah states and widespread in the remaining regions and states with isolated heavy falls in upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon states. Degree of certainty is 80%.
