Authorities fined 50 people in Hlaingthayar Township for not wearing masks while going outside on May 14, said Win Maung, Regional MP of Hlaingthayar Constituency.

It has made by the MPs of the township, police officials, officials from the township administrative body, and other officials in populated areas in the township such as 15 market, Meekwat market, BOC roundabout, and Thamakone roundabout.

They were sent to the township court and charged under Environmental Conservation Law and Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases Law.

“It was made in the morning as people are not usually come outside in the afternoon. We arrested 47 men and 3 women for not wearing masks and charged them at the township court. The court sentenced a fine. The arrest will be made once in two days,” said the MP.
