Day temperature is from 2°C to 4°C higher than average temperature of May across the country, according to weather forecast made by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) for May 6.

It said isolated rainfall occurred in Magway Region and Kachin and northern Shan states and partly cloudy in the remaining regions and states. Day temperature is from 3°C to 4°C in Nay Pyi Taw, lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions and Shan, Kayin and Mon states and about 2°C in upper Sagaing and Mandalay regions and Kachin, Rakhine and Kayah states higher than average temperature of May. Day temperature in Chin State has about average temperature of May.

The recorded temperatures are 46°C in Chauk, 43°C in Magway, 42°C each in Monywa, Myinmu, Minbu, Aunglan, Pakkoku, Taungtwnigyi, Sinphyukyun, Taungoo, Thayawaddy, Nyaunglaybin, Gyobingauk and Bawlake. The recorded rainfalls are 0.12 inch in Myitsone and 0.1 inch in Kyaukhtu.

According to the observation made at 1:30 pm on May 6, the low pressure area formed over southeast of Bay of Bengal and adjoining south of Andaman Sea has become less marked.

According to the observation made by the DMH for May 7, rain or thundershowers will be scattered in upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, isolated in lower Sagaing and Taninthayi regions, northern Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon states. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining regions and states.

Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-8 feet off and along Myanmar coasts.

Rain will be from isolated to scattered in Taninthayi Region, Mon and Kayin states for next two days.
