An order was issued in Taninthayi Region by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) control and emergency response committee on April 22 evening.
It stated that apart from funeral and health matters, those wanting to travel have to take a recommendation letter from the administration office and return them upon coming back.
It also instructed the public to wear masks when going outside and those coming back from abroad have to undergo (21) days community based facility quarantine and (7) days home quarantine.
Civil services staff have to refrain from travelling apart from duty.
Trucks exempt from carrying commodities, drug and fuel oil, have to pass under the permission of respective authorities. The order is valid from the issue date till April 30. It was signed by Taninthayi Region Border Affairs and Security Minister Col. Kyaw Zaya.
Currently, a nighttime curfew (10 pm to 4 am) has been issued in ten townships from Kawthaung, Dawei and Myeik districts in Taninthayi Region since April 18. Anyone who fails to comply will be taken action.
