Two women in their twenties have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 121 in Myanmar, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 pm on April 21.
So far, five patients have died from the virus and nine have recovered from the illness.
The two latest confirmed patients both aged 21 are from Dagon Myothit (East) Township in Yangon Region and Taunggyi in Shan State (South) respectively.
The two tested positive after the first batch of Covid-19 tests for 185 people were carried out. The remaining 183 tested negative.
The woman from Yangon Region will be transferred to South Oakkalapa Specialist Hospital and the woman from Taunggyi to Sao San Tun Hospital.
The results of the second batch of Covid-19 tests were announced by the ministry at 10 pm. The virus was not detected in all 94 samples.
