A gold mine worker who was under investigation of COVID-19 at Homalin People’s Hospital (bed-100) in Sagaing Region tested negative but he died of other chronic diseases.
The 33-year-old man was admitted to the hospital on the afternoon of April 16. He was regarded as a suspected COVID-19 case as he had similar symptoms. He died at hospital at 6.55 am on April 19, said Medical Superintendent Dr Win Naing Tun.
He was suffering from AIDS and kidney disease but he tested negative for COVID-19.
“The patient was suffering from AIDS. His kidney did not work. The main cause of his death is AIDS. He tested negative for the virus. He died at 6.55 am and his lab result came out at 7 am. NHL (National Health Laboratory informed us about this,” the doctor said.
Homalin had two persons under investigation of COVID-9 and the first patient also tested negative.
