A woman in Mingalardon Township who returned from Singapore has been sent to Waibargi Hospital as a suspected COVID-19 case, and authorities are searching 11 other persons who returned together with her, said Yangon Region MP Thandar Moe for Mingalardon Township Constituency (2).
“She arrived back from Singapore on March 17. She came to stay in Paukgon Ward in Mingalardon Township where her friends live. As she has coughing and high temperature, a resident reported it to the township health department. When checked, she had a temperature of 104 degrees. She was then sent to the hospital.
The four people from the house she stayed at are being watched and they are not allowed to go outside,” Thandar Moe said.
“The 11 people who returned together with her are being searched. We don’t where they live. The suspected patient is from Myingyan, she said.
Till the night of March 19, Myanmar had 127 patients under investigation and suspension of the coronavirus, the Ministry of Health and Sports announced.
A national committee for COVID-19 prevention, control, and treatment with State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi as chairperson was established on March 13.
