More than 50 well-wishers have donated medicines and medical equipment and cash worth over Ks800 million to be used at hospitals in the Yangon Region under the Ministry of Health and Sports and in COVID-19 preventive and control measures. 

The donation ceremony was held at Yangon Region Public Health and Medical Services Department on March 15. 

At the ceremony, 56 donors presented cash and medical equipment to the ministry. The donations including cash and medical equipment amounted to Ks802,069,000. 

A similar donation ceremony took place at Yangon General Hospital on March 14. The donations including and cash and medical equipment amounted to K232.5 million. 

During a recent regular coordination meeting on COVID-19 in Nay Pyi Taw, the Union Minister Health and Sports invited partner organizations and donors to make their contributions to Myanmar’s COVID-19 preparedness and response measures.
