The Ministry of Health and Sports has instructed officials concerned to list Korea and Japan as travel history countries in addition to China regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as they see the outbreak increase, according to a central level coordination meeting on COVID-19 monitoring and control. 

Dr Thet Khaing Win, permanent secretary of the ministry, said stricter coronavirus monitoring measures must be taken at international exits and entrances as about two airplanes from Korean lands Myanmar every day. He stressed the need to issue visas on arrival only after passengers can show their clean health records. 

He added that the countries with high outbreak would be considered to be on the list of travel history. 

US CDC’s program director from the Thai office and officials and the country director from Myanmar office and officials met the director general and officials from the Ministry of Health and Sports on February 20 to speed up preventive and control measures against COVID-19.
