A sick Chinese sends to Waibargi for fear of COVID-19 virus

A 49-year old Chinese citizen who arrived in Myanmar from Thailand is now quarantined at Waibargi Hospital as he is running a fever and coughing, announced the Ministry of Health and Sports on February 16.

The man lives in Tainjin Province, China and arrived in Thailand on February 5. He visited Myanmar on February 13, it said.

He suffered sickness and had a cough from February 15 and arrived in Aungmingalar highway bus station. He was sent to the clinic at the bus station and then transferred to the Waibargi Hospital.

The authorities took nasal swab samples from him to send to the reference laboratory and he has not shown signs of respiratory symptoms yet, it said.

A total of ten COVID-19 suspected patients are still quarantined in hospitals till February 16 and the health of the patients is improving, it said.
