Flight crew, health staff, students discharged from hospitals after 14-day quarantine

Five flight crew members who brought 59 Myanmar students stranded in coronavirus-stricken Chinese city of Wuhan back, were allowed to discharge from Waibargi Specialist Hospital on 16 February after 14 days in isolation. 

Dr. Aye Aye Aung, medical superintendent of Waibargi Specialist Hospital said: “All flight crews are in their forties. They evacuated Myanmar students in Wuhan on 2 February. They had to stay at Wuhan airport in China for two to three hours. Students and flight crew show no symptoms of coronavirus.”

Five flight crew members were kept in isolation at Waibargi Specialist Hospital and 59 Myanmar students and three health staff at Kandawnadi Hospital in Mandalay for 14 days.

On the same day, Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe and Mandalay Mayor Dr. Ye Lwin who is also chair of Surveillance and Response Team  (SRT), greeted 59 Myanmar students and three health staff after 14-day isolation at Kandawnadi Hospital in Mandalay.
