Ministry monitors ten patients

Yangon--Ten patients including one patient suspected of being infected with the novel coronavirus are being monitored at the hospitals across the country, according to the statement by the Ministry of Health and Sports on the evening of 9 February.

According to the statement, a 19-year-old male is being monitored at Saosantun Hospital in Taunggyi in Shan State, a 18-year-old female at Ponnayun Township Hospital in Rakhine State and a 45-year-old women at Magway People’s Hospital. They recently returned to Myanmar from China. The samples of these patients will be sent to the WHO-recognized lab.

A Chinese man quarantined at Waibargi Hospital was allowed to discharge from the hospital on the morning of 8 February as he tested negative. In addition, a man quarantined at Minbya Hospital is removed from the list of suspect patients as he tested negative, the statement says.
