Nighttime temperatures in Myanmar decreased these days due to two low pressure areas from India and China and it may continue only for next one day, said Hla Tun, Deputy Director of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).
“Rain may pour in northern areas of Myanmar around January 30 or 31 after the cold spell is gone,” he said.
According to the observation made by the DMH on January 28, light rains are likely to be isolated in upper Sagaing Region. Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon and Taninthayi regions, Northern Shan, Kachin and Chin states.
Nighttime temperatures are seven degrees below normal temperature of January in eastern Shan State, from five to six degrees below normal temperature of January in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyawady regions and Kayin State, from three to four degrees below normal temperature of January in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi regions, northern and southern Shan, Chin, Kayah and Mon states and two degrees below normal temperature of January in Sagaing Region, Kachin and Rakhine states, according to the DMH.
The recorded nighttime temperatures are -2°C in Hakha, 0°C each in Nantsan and Mongyang, 1°C each in Heho and Loilin, 2°C each in Pinlong, Pyin-O-Lwin and Mogok and 3°C each in Putao, Kengtong, Monghsat and Tiddim.
According to the observation made by the DMH on January 29, light rains are likely to be isolated in upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 60%. Weather will be partly cloudy in Taninthayi Region, Northern Shan, Chin and Mon states and generally fair in the remaining regions and states.
It is forecasted to decrease nighttime temperatures in Sagaing Region and Kachin and Chin states for the next 2 days, announced the DMH.
