The Myanmar Airways International (MAI) is planning to cooperate with Air KBZ to run more domestic flights and planned to buy two Embraer 190 planes, according to its Chief Operating Officer Kyaw Han.

“The airline is planning to buy two Embraer 190 planes and providing training to pilots and crew members. We will run domestic routes in July next year by cooperating with Air KBZ,” said Kyaw Han.

An Airbus A319-100 plane bought by the MAI arrived in Yangon International Airport on December 26 and it was flown in from Phoenix, United States.

The MAI now has five A319 planes and one A320 in its fleet and has planned to add more planes to its fleet to run more overseas flights.

The airline is running from Yangon to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou and Kolkata using the six Airbus planes.

The MAI is running regular flights to South Korea, four times a week, by cooperating with Meebang Air Agencies starting from December 5.

Based at Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport, the MAI is providing regular flight services to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou, Gaya and Kolkata and chartered flight service to China.

The Air KBZ is selling air tickets to Kengtong for civil servants with half of the normal price to mark the eighth anniversary of the airline starting from December 15.
