Military Chief attends 30th Anniversary of National Armed Forces Day and 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, attended the 30th Anniversary of National Armed Forces Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces held on December 21, according to Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services.

The Senior General and party arrived at the Ministry of Defence of Vietnam (K-2000) in Hanoi, Vietnam, in accompany with Myanmar Ambassador to Vietnam Kyaw Soe Win, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Aung Zeya and officials. They were welcomed with the Guard of Honour by National Defence Minister of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces General Ngo Xuan Lich. Next, the guests viewed the display of military equipment used in the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces and defence equipment and accessories manufactured by the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces.

The Senior General and party cordially greeted those attending the event. Then, videos on a brief history of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the emergence of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces, training cooperation with the friendly countries and defence exercises were shown. The Vietnamese armed forces entertainment troupe performed songs and dances.

The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation met with families of the Myanmar Embassy to Vietnam and the Office of the Military Attaché and students learning on scholarship in Vietnam in the afternoon. The Senior General said the government and the Tatmadaw are continuously trying to achieve development and eternal peace for the country. As economic driving force is essential for the development of the country, it is necessary for all to grasp opportunities for economic cooperation and export and import promotion through diplomatic means.

The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation left Noi Bai International Airport of Vietnam by air in the evening and they were seen off at the airport by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Vietnam People’s Army Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien and officials, Myanmar Ambassador to Vietnam Kyaw Soe Win, Military Attaché Brig-Gen Aung Zeya and officials. The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation arrived back at Mingaladon Airbase in Yangon in the evening.
