Myanmar army delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left for Japan on October 8 and will discuss cooperation between armed forces from both countries, announced the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on October 8.
The military chief paid a visit to Japan at the invitation of General Koji Yamasaki, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff of the Japan Self-Defence Forces and he was accompanied by Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Lt-Gen Nyo Saw, Lt-Gen San Oo and officers from Commander-in-Chief (Army) office.
The Senior General and party were seen off at Yangon International Airport by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, senior military officers from Commander-in-Chief (Army) office, Yangon Region Commander Maj-Gen Thet Pone, Ambassador of Japan to Myanmar Ichiro Maruyama, Military Attaché Col. Takashi Komatsu and officials.
The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation was welcomed by Myint Thu, Myanmar Ambassador for Japan, Col. Ishiwata from Ministry of Defense, Nippon Foundation President Yohei Sasakawa, Japan-Myanmar Friendship Association President Hideo Watanabe, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Col. Tin Soe and officials at Haneda Airport in Tokyo.
