Initial reports said a rocket part landed in Hpakant is owned by China, said Dr Khat Aung, Chief Minister of Kachin State.

The army kept control the rocket part and ministry of security and border affairs for the state is handling the case, he said.

“We learnt that it is a rocket part from China. It is the second time landed in Hpakant area. If the case is happened in other countries, Minister for Foreign Affairs will deal the matters,” he said.

Col. Nay Lin Tun, Minister for Security and Border Affairs confirmed the rocket part is kept at an army base in Hpakant.

The rocket part landed on a kitchen of a house in Hmawpone Village, Hpakant Township in Kachin State on September 19.

In November 2016, parts fallen from a satellite fell back to the earth and landed at Hmawsisar village tract, Kachin State.
