The incident occurred in the afternoon of July 29 near the Ma Saw Bridge on the Yangon-Mawlamyine road in Bilin Township, where floodwaters had overflowed onto the road. A woman traveling from Bilin toward Thaton on a motorcycle was caught in the strong current and carried away.

Upon witnessing the incident, the driver and two passengers of a trailer truck (license plate 7D/1387) got out of their vehicle and managed to rescue the woman in time.

They were also able to retrieve the motorcycle she had been riding.

Due to continuous heavy rainfall and runoff from the hills, several sections of the Yangon-Mawlamyine road in Bilin Township remain flooded with strong currents. Rescue organizations have warned motorists to exercise caution when traveling through these areas.

As of 11 a.m. on July 30, some parts of the Yangon-Mawlamyine road in Bilin Township, Mon State, remain submerged. However, vehicles, including private cars, are still able to pass through, according to local rescue workers.
