According to the observation made at 6:30 am on August 3, water level in Thanlwin River reached 784 cm in Hpa-an, surpassing its danger level of 750 cm. Low lying areas of Hpa-an were flooded according to locals.

At present, some wards in Hpa-an were flooded according to a local of Hpa-an. The low lying areas were flooded at present but if the rain continues, the water level may increase, he added.

The water level may increase one more feet in the coming day and it will continue above the danger water level of Hpa-an according to Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

Therefore, DMH has announced that those living near low lying areas in Hpa-an  and those living near riverbank need to be cautious about flooding.
