Vocational education taught in disaster-stricken areas: Union Minister

Vocational education are being taught for the rehabilitation of people living in disaster hit areas, according to Union Minister for Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye.

He said these words at a ceremony held to commemorate providing donations for the preparatory measures against natural disasters and for voluntary organizations and the disabled in Nay Pyi Taw on October 14.

The Ministry has laid down policies and they are being implemented. In disaster management cases, the Ministry is doing its best to nurture an environment in which people can stand strong to the natural disasters.

He also claimed that the ministry is pouring in efforts for natural disaster preparedness works to be implemented as quickly as possible. In addition, vocational skills are being taught to people living in disaster hit areas, he said.

For the emergence of a society in which people can live with dignity, rehabilitation works are being implemented by the Ministry. In doing so, the Ministry is working together with volunteer social and civic organizations, international organizations which are recognized as the official partner organizations of the Ministry. For the 14 volunteer organizations in Nay Pyi Taw council area, the Ministry has provided around Ks.210 million. For the preparatory work to be carried out for the bank erosion in Leiwai Township in Khakhina district, Ks.118.5 million has been provided. It had also provided cash assistance for nursery schools and disabled persons, accepted by the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw council area Dr. Myo Aung.

The Ministry has provided altogether Ks.420 million for the preparatory measures for natural disasters and for voluntary organizations and disabled.
