A video of a PDF (people’s defence force) group known as the Dawn Guerrilla killing government employees they kidnapped with a knife is circulating on the Telegram social network.
The video is three minutes and 44 seconds long and shows a total of seven people killed.
Before they were killed, they were forced to sit in a row in a pit where they were supposed to be buried, and the PDFs were waiting ready to cut and kill them one by one.
After that, the person believed to be the leader of the armed group was seen asking the employees for their staff identity card numbers and filming them on the phone. A person waiting to be killed replied that he was deputy head of a general administration department.
After that, seven PDF members simultaneously cut the seven people with knives, killed them and pushed them into the pit. While killings took place, there were also PDF members who were waiting by the side, and a person who had been arrested and forced to sit was also seen nearby.
After the killings, the murderers raised three fingers, and chanted a slogan “This is revenge for the blood of the PDF soldiers who fell in the plains. For the loss of our comrades in the mountains and plains, we, the Dawn Guerrilla Revolutionary Army, swear a blood oath to the NUG (National Unity Government) that we will wipe out the war dogs from the military council and the police dogs from the plains to the mountainous regions.”
It is not yet known exactly in which area and on which day the killing took place, but when one of the victims was questioned, it was found that he was asked if he had any contact with military informant Pyu Maung from Makyeeton village. The village with the name of Makyeeton is in Wetlat Township as well as in KhinU Township of Sagaing Region.
According to the reports of some online media outlets, the Dawn Guerrilla was involved in the attacks on the military columns in KhinU Township. A local resident of KhinU Township also said Makyeeton Village in the township had two opposing groups of villagers, and currently the village has only those supporting the military. Therefore, the incident was likely to happen in KhinU Township.
This incident has not yet been reported in international and foreign-based exile media.
In the international media, their news only highlights killings by the security forces, while the overseas-based exile media rarely mentions the violent killings of the PDFs.
Since February 1, 2021, more than 6,300 monks, health workers, education staff, political party members, village/ward administrators and alleged military informers have been killed.
Similarly, over 4,100 people have died due to the shootings by security forces, according to the Association for the Assistance of Political Prisoners (AAPP) on September 29.
However, the State Administration Council responded that the lists published by AAPP are inflated lists without solid information.
In the conflicts since February 1, 2021, according to the above lists, civilian deaths have exceeded 10,000.
