Veteran actor and director U Maung Maung Myint passed away on May 7 at around 10:15 AM, according to sources.

At the time of his death, U Maung Maung Myint was 93 years old.

The seasoned artist, who entered the Myanmar film industry in 1956, was also the father of late actor Pyay Nyein.

Prior to his passing, photos of U Maung Maung Myint receiving medical treatment due to health complications had been shared on social media. It has been reported that the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization provided financial assistance for his medical expenses in April through a special fund.
