A delegation led by U Xiao Guoan, Vice Chairman of the United Wa State Party (UWSP), paid a courtesy call on President U Min Aung Hlaing at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw on the morning of August 4, according to reports.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the new government's commitment to achieving national stability and lasting peace throughout the country, as well as its ongoing efforts to engage in dialogue with all ethnic armed organizations. The two sides also discussed the government's efforts to build a new nation based on democracy and a federal system desired by the people, emphasizing the importance of achieving durable peace as a foundation for that goal.

The meeting further addressed the government's intensified measures to eradicate online financial scams and online gambling operations nationwide, as well as its anti-drug initiatives. The UWSP delegation explained that the Wa authorities are also taking stringent actions within the Wa region to eliminate online gambling activities and combat narcotics-related crimes.

In addition, discussions covered the government's plans to provide necessary support for the further development of the education, healthcare, and transportation sectors in the Wa region, as well as future cooperation to ensure the success of the country's peace process.

The UWSP delegation, led by its Vice Chairman, is currently in Nay Pyi Taw to hold peace-related talks with the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC).

According to reports, the NSPNC and UWSP held discussions on peace-related matters in Nay Pyi Taw from August 3 to August 4.
