The US Embassy issued a statement on October 14 for US citizens who are in Dawei, Launglon and Thayetchaung in Taninthayi Region to leave as soon as possible.
The statement also said that the US citizens should not visit the three townships and be aware of the dangers of traveling in Taninthayi Region.
This order is based on the instructions by the Taninthayi Regional Government that instructed foreigners to leave Dawei, Launglon, and Thayetchaung townships due to security concerns and inability to guarantee safety of foreigners.
The State Department has designated the danger level as Level 4 for Myanmar, its highest metric of risk.
