NAYPYITAW------The Union Election Commission(UEC) offered public that those who wish to object to the name of the party, the flag and the emblem to be used by that organization may submit their objection to the Union Election Commission with valid evidence within seven days from the date of this announcement.
The UEC announced the names of two political parties are the Party of People and Shan-ni Solidarity Party (Tai Lyan).
Under Rule 14 (d) of the Registration of Political Parties, it is hereby announced to the public that those who wish to object to the name of the party, the flag and the emblem to be used by that organization may submit their objection to the Union Election Commission with valid evidence within seven days from the date of this announcement of UEC.
The two political parties applied to the UEC for permission to establish political parties under article 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law after the issuance of the Political Parties Registration Law and Rules.
The UEC said till March 15, there had been 26 parties that applied in accord with Section 3 of the law. Among those 26 parties, six will conduct their election campaigns across the union while 20 others will canvass in their respective single regions or states. Now, the UEC is scrutinizing their applications for registration.
To date, six parties have applied under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, and 20 parties have applied under Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Law, totaling 26parties.
