Two vessels were unloading more than 30,000 tons of fuel at the Yangon port, according to Myanmar Petroleum Trade Association (MPTA).
MPTA released video clips on fuel unloading after a reply letter from Myanma Port Authority about the cancellation of the arrival of MT YU HAI vessel as the consignee had yet to receive an import license went viral online on May 20.
It posted a notice on its Facebook page saying: Today (May 21), MT YU HAI Vessel carrying 17,200 tons of oil and Aberlour Vessel carrying 20,000 tons of oil arrived at the port and are in the process of unloading.”
The association issued a statement on May 19 dismissing rumours about fuel shortages and assuring that oil tankers are arriving continuously.
The statement also said four more vessels have arrived in the month of the sea.
