Two Su-30 SME fighter aircrafts commissioned into service at 76th anniversary of Myanmar Air Force Day ceremony

In commemoration of the 76th anniversary of Tatmadaw (Air), two Su-30 SME fighter aircrafts were commissioned into service in Nay Pyi Taw airbase on December 15.

Present at the ceremony were Chairman of State Administration Council (SAC) Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and wife and officials, Union level officials and their wives, senior military officials, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Region Command, commanders from air bases, officials from Tatmadaw (Air) and responsible officials.

On the occasion, Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing highlighted that fourth-generation super maneuverable Su-30 SME fighter aircraft could be commissioned into service to contribute to improving the air force power of Tatmadaw (Air).

In the successive era of Tatmadaw (Air), it is evident that Tatmadaw (Air) played an important role in fighting against conflicts broke out locally and intrusions from abroad. Moreover, Tatmadaw (Air) effectively took part in combating narcotics drugs together with Army and Navy, he said.

In his speech, the Senior General said it is a new step to upgrade the Tatmadaw (Air) to a tactical air force possessing some strategic capabilities to be effectively applied in serving the majority of functions of air force power as a future aspiration of Tatmadaw (Air).

In the skirmishes happened in the north-east command area during October, Tatmadaw (Air) fight for the country using their air force power. Senior General in his speech said that he wanted to congratulate to soldiers for the country.

Afterwards, Chief of Staff (Air) Lt-Gen Zaw Win Myint declared the commissioning of the aircraft. Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung presented a scale model of commissioned aircraft to the Senior General.

The Su-30 SME fighter plane is a type that can perform flat spin flight, which cannot be done by ordinary jet fighters. Because the body and flight maintenance systems are integrated with advanced technologies, it is able to perform flat spin Mmneuver and maximum banking turn with the narrowest radius of turn.

Next, the one Su-30SME fighter aircraft saluted the Senior General and demonstrated flying skills.
