Myanmar Police Force issued a statement that two bridges between Kanyinkyo village and Painsaloat village in Bago Region were attacked with mines on January 10.
The No-3 Bridge aka Tada Phyu Bridge which is 34 feet long and 14 feet wide, connecting Kanyinkyo village and Painsaloat village was set up mine by KNU around 12:10 am on January 10. As a result, the bridge was destroyed and inaccessible according to the police statement.
Similarly, another bridge locally known as Khin Kant Lant Bridge which is 30 feet long and 12 feet wide, connecting Kanyinkyo village and Painsaloat village was set up mine by KNU around 12:30 am on January 10. Two feet square of the bridge’s floor was destroyed by the explosion but vehicles can pass through it according to the statement.
Preparations of the bridges were carried out together with officials and security forces for the people to have convenience travelling. At the same time, investigations are being made to arrest the culprits.
